Introduction

This year's Hualu Cup competition is based on the concept of "collection, storage, governance, use, and ease of use", focusing on real application scenarios in smart city business. The aim is to combine data from real industry fields such as fire protection, municipal administration, and transportation, and set up targeted algorithm competitions and application algorithm competitions.

The competition aims to select more excellent data mining and machine learning algorithms, and select outstanding algorithms. The excellent teams emerging from the competition will have the opportunity to settle in the Yihualu Technology Enterprise Incubator, enjoy professional incubation services, and accelerate the landing of products and projects.

Event Details

一、Background of the Competition
Yi Hualu was established in April 2001 and is a listed company controlled by China Hualu Group, a central enterprise directly supervised by the State owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council. Its business covers 31 provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government and more than 300 cities nationwide, and has expanded to Asia, Africa and Europe under the promotion of the "the Belt and Road" initiative. Yi Hualu actively responded to the national big data strategy, accurately grasped the need for Digital transformation to give play to the advantages of central enterprises, and implemented the "data lake+" development strategy, committed to building the urban data lake, a new era of digital economic infrastructure.

Since 2017, the World Intelligence Conference has been successfully held for 6 times, becoming a top-level event with world-class influence in the field of intelligent technology for academic exchanges, exhibitions, open innovation, and deepening cooperation.

As a strategic partner of the World Intelligence Conference, Yi Hualu undertakes the "China Hualu Cup - data lake Algorithm Competition", which is based on the open data resources required by AI applications in the actual business scenarios of governments, industries and enterprises. With the concept of "collection, storage, governance, use, and ease of use", we focus on real application scenarios in smart city business, aiming to combine the use of real industry data such as fire protection, municipal administration, and transportation to set up targeted algorithm competitions and application algorithm competitions.

The competition has formed a model of "promoting production through competition, using numbers through competition, and attracting talents through competition", connecting the link of achievement transformation. It has attracted a total of 25137 participants in five sessions, forming a team of 23315 participants, and collecting more than 80 mature algorithm models. The model has made breakthroughs in both application and innovation, and has gradually been applied to corresponding scenarios to solve practical business problems. The competition aims to select more excellent data mining and machine learning algorithms, as well as select outstanding algorithms.

Schedule
(1) Preliminary round (June October)

Preliminary warm-up stage: This stage releases training datasets for contestants to design models A-ranking stage: The platform releases test training set A, and the contestants conduct online ranking. The model is validated and optimized through ranking results.

Stage of B chart playing: The platform releases test training set B. The time for B chart playing is shorter than that of A chart, and the score of B chart playing is used as the criteria for promotion in the second round.

The top 50 team enters the semifinals of the competition.

(2) Seminars (October December)

The first stage of the semi-finals: the ranking stage, which is automatically scored by the platform system.

The second stage of the semi-finals: comprehensive scoring, ranking the top 25 judges for model evaluation, and the score in the second stage is the final promotion score.

In the semi-finals stage, expert evaluation will be used to screen the final list, and the top 15 teams will enter the finals.

(3) Final and Award Ceremony (January 2024)

Determine the winning works and team through on-site defense.

The judges will rate the contestants based on their plan preparation, overall strength, and on-site performance to determine their final ranking.

1) Participants

You can freely form teams to participate, and the specific requirements for team formation can be found in the relevant instructions of the track. Contestants should ensure that their registration information is accurate and valid. If the information of the contestants in the team does not meet the requirements, the organizing committee has the right to cancel the qualification and rewards of the entire team.

This competition is open to the world, regardless of age or nationality. Students from higher education institutions (including vocational colleges, undergraduate students, and graduate students), as well as personnel from research institutions and enterprises, are eligible to participate.

In order to ensure the fairness of the competition, the following types of personnel will be prohibited from participating: personnel who have access to the competition questions and related data from the competition organizers and technical support units are not allowed to participate.

Review Requirements
The competition focuses on application innovation as the main objective and evaluation principle, and is evaluated based on a score of 100. The specific score distribution is as follows.

(1) Innovation 20 points

Emphasizing the value of original creativity, breakthroughs and innovations in thinking patterns, technological research and development, and management methods.

(2) Value 25 points

It emphasizes strict and perfect technical value and social and market value.

(3) Integrity 10 points

Emphasize the description of key technologies, technical routes and methods for problem-solving, complete testing processes, and present the final results in a reasonable manner.

(4) Application feasibility 25 points

Emphasize whether the solution can be applied and solved in real scenarios, and whether it is feasible and practical.

(5) Algorithm availability 20 points

The accuracy of the algorithm is sufficient to support the solution of the problem.

(1) Event Launch Ceremony

The organizers of the competition jointly participate, initiate the competition, and announce information such as the organizer, theme, and schedule of the competition.

(2) Data lake Ecology and Data Intelligence Forum

Invite government leaders, renowned scholars, experts, and entrepreneurs to give keynote speeches and thematic discussions, and jointly provide suggestions and suggestions for the development of China's artificial intelligence field.

(3) Final and Award Ceremony

It can be held in conjunction with forum activities. Conduct on-site evaluation of the projects that have been nominated for the final roadshow, determine the winning teams for each award, and conduct an award ceremony.
